iXBRL.UK was built around a single, narrow problem: UK companies and their accountants needed somewhere to get iXBRL tagging done properly, quickly, and without buying a software licence they'd use twice a year. We do the tagging so you don't have to learn the taxonomy.
Why we exist
Most companies file accounts once a year. Most accountancy practices tag dozens, sometimes hundreds, of client accounts every filing season. In both cases, keeping in-house tagging expertise current — across FRS 102, FRS 105, FRS 101, IFRS, and the HMRC and Companies House schemas that keep evolving — is a poor use of time next to the actual work of running a business or a practice.
So we built a team that does nothing else. Every accountant and tagging specialist at iXBRL.UK works on taxonomy mapping and validation daily, which means the taxonomy changes, the schema updates, and the edge cases around dimensions and contexts are second nature rather than a yearly refresher.
